Actor Danny Aylo, who is best known for his performances in "Do the Right Thing," "The Purple Cairo Lily," and "Moonblock," passed away today (Friday). So, according to American media publications. Aylo was 86 at the time of his death, and died in New Jersey after a brief fight with sudden illness. He is survived by his wife Sandy, who has been married since 1955, and four children.

Aylo was born in Manhattan as a son of Italian-born parents. He began playing films in the 1970s, appearing on the side of Robert De Niro in a minor role in "Bang the Drum Slowly." Then appeared in small roles as well in the two great mafia sagas of the 1970s and 1980s, "The Godfather" and "There were times in America." His big break came in the late 1980s, when he played much more significant roles in "Purple Cairo Rosette" and "Woody Allen's" Radio Days and mainly thanks to his performance in "Do the Right Thing" by Spike Lee. For this unforgettable role, he was nominated for the Golden Globe and Oscar and won numerous Visitor Association awards.

The 1980s were a great time for character actors like him, and Eilee also excelled in "Moon Blow." The rest of his career was less flashy, but Aylo continued to be active until his last day, attending, among other things, Robert Altman's "Something to Wear"; At City Hall on the side to Pacino; And the esteemed Dinar Rash.
