Distance Saving: Forget everything you were taught
So is it true that you have also been taught to count 21, 22 and that is to evaluate if you keep a distance? So it is, that it is not really saving the right distance. And why are we so disgusted to keep our distance and why this is complete nonsense
Distance Saving: Forget everything you were taught
Editing: Nir ChenDistance saving, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? True, counting 21, 22 of the vehicle ahead and if we were able to count - we keep the right distance.
So it is, that it is not true, or rather completely wrong. You see, this matter of 21, 22 is not the ideal distance to be kept, it is the minimum necessary for us to respond in time in case the driver in front of us stops. In other words, it means less - it's dangerous.
Exactly the same way in the city, the maximum speed is up to 50 km / h. This does not mean that it is possible to travel at 50 km / h all the time - our speed must match the conditions of the road - so just with keeping distance.
Because if I talk on the phone while driving, my response time is already different so I need to keep more distance. If it's raining as you go? I'll take another second and if it all happens at night? Another second is added. So the same method of 21, 22 - not at all relevant, is not even the minimum in this case.
But then there's a problem ...

For a loan"But he will push me"
Our biggest problem with distance-keeping, or so we at least tell ourselves, is that if I keep the right distance from the vehicle in front of me - someone will be pushed there. So I want us to unravel this story for a moment.
We will take an hour's drive, an hour's drive that includes an urban and inter-city road, in traffic jams and without traffic jams. During this time, we will keep the right distance at all times. In their estimation, how many people are going to be pushed there? 20? 30? 40? What do you say about 60?
Let's say 60 is pushed, and each one we keep for two seconds. 60 double push 2 seconds are 120 seconds which is exactly 2 minutes. 2 minutes, that's all - that's all we'll lose on the hour drive. And you can relax, 60 people are not pushed, half of them are not pushed, maybe 10 drivers and that is really really under pressure.
So for a while we probably won't lose distance, but it's the nerves, the feeling that someone is taking advantage of it, but now you really ask yourself - is it really worth it? Is it just to keep him from pushing we're not going to keep our distance, drive tighter, waste energy and for what? is nothing!
We and only we determine the level of risk we take, not the dumb ones around.
