What was the cry for?

Sangyung Rexton has been selling in Israel for nearly twenty years, acquiring a reputation for marketability and reliability. In early 2018 came the fourth generation, a brand new vehicle with impressive design and modern assemblies. On the test drive, I liked Herxton, but I wrote this: "... The pull control didn't function as expected - its operation is slow and fragmented, and it produces unpleasant power transfers in the drive system. For us, this is the main weak point of the Hardstone - it's frustrating, because it shouldn't be a technical problem to produce More effective pull control. " Recently, I was surprised to hear that the translation of the test at Walla was transferred to Korea at the time, helping the Talcare people to convince the manufacturer of the need for the upgrade ... our modest contribution.

The shortest road test in history

For the purpose of testing the system, we searched for a challenging trail - a steep incline, degraded ground, and rough crosses. A brief technical section up the 'North Mountain' provided us with the perfect arena for testing. This is not an extreme obstacle, but it is challenging enough for standard tools, vans and so on - especially if we deliberately opt for a bad progression path, forcing the wheels to the depths of the pits ... A skilled driver is supposed to zigzag the pits to reduce the "axle crossover" but this time, We decided to do it the wrong way.

The main limitation of Herston is a narrow ventral spacing (21.5 centimeters) and a 20.5 degree approach angle only; This data restricts it to technical area and requires a (legal) 2-inch vehicle elevation, by replacing absorbers / springs. In about two months, you will arrive at the Gatos workshop a dedicated elevation kit from Australian IronMan, which will give Raxton the height he needs. The Australian system will also improve ride comfort, which is currently not perfect. Who is Sangyung Rexton suitable for?

Rexton EX costs NIS 245,000, the premium version being tested will cost you NIS 276,000; For an additional NIS 31,000, you will get leather upholstery and electric / heated seats, a roof window and trunk opening, a smart key, and more trimmings; In a budget limit situation, I would be happy to give up these treats, in exchange for a serious space kit. In any case, and compared to Land Cruiser costing NIS 320-420,000 and Grand Cherokee rising NIS 325-436,000, Sangyung Rexton can be considered a real find.

320 raxtons have been sold in Israel since 2018, while around 2,400 land cruisers have been sold here ... It seems that the Israeli customer does not hesitate to go for the expensive and reputable option, but I think it is very important to have a cheap option tens of percent. It's good for current customers, it's great for a second-hand market that will get serious reinforcements, at relatively affordable prices.

At the crossover price of 5 + 2, Sangyung Rexton offers an excellent combination of interior space, excellent road capabilities and terrain potential that has started from today, has become very relevant. Raxton does not have the refinement of recent crossovers, nor is it suitable for those who are planning extreme crime trips (for this, please contact the Wrangler Department). But it can provide an excellent answer for an attractive price for a high-techist who wants to travel in the Negev, and not just for irrigated JNF.
