Sony company held its inaugural event at the CES show in Las Vegas, unveiling an active electric car prototype called Vision-S, with autonomous driving capabilities. It's just a prototype, created to showcase the company's capabilities, but it's a real vehicle traveling on the road and quite similar to Tesla's cars, that is, a car with a very practical pretend.

According to information provided by the new car, the technology was created using a number of companies including Bush, Continental, Qualcomm and nVidia, which helped to produce the concept car. Technically the vehicle has 33 sensors that allow it to travel autonomously. These are state-of-the-art sensors developed in the market that include motion detection capabilities and image analysis of objects outside and inside the vehicle both day and night lighting, as well as sensors capable of distinguishing between moving objects and standing objects, and of course radar with near-detection and remote motion capabilities.

It is a system that creates 360 degree control of what is going on around the vehicle as well as inside it as the vehicle can move, accelerate, slow down and brake alone as well as navigate the road. However, a driver must sit at the wheel to examine the system's operation and intervene in its failure modes. The sensors also include the capabilities of operating the vehicle entertainment system in a state-of-the-art system that also includes large screens, for those who are not required to watch Vision S.

Although this is a prototype, the Vision S is very detailed, and features four seats, two 200 kW electric motors and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds. At 240 mph. Beyond these details, the company did not provide additional details about the interesting prototype but it was noted that each seat will have its own speaker and microphone. It is hoped that the company will introduce more intriguing Vision S capabilities later in the show.
