Protesters massed in front of a Parisian theater where Macron attended a performance

The president was attending a play, when dozens of demonstrators gathered in front of the Bouffes du Nord on Friday evening


How did they know that the president was present this Friday evening at the Bouffes du Nord theater? Shortly before 10:30 p.m., Emmanuel Macron left the Paris room, in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, when dozens of demonstrators had gathered in front. According to images posted on social networks, some of them tried to enter the theater where this Friday evening was playing a play called La Mouche, which started at 8:30 p.m.

No intrusion into the room

A police source confirms to the Parisian the presence of individuals around the theater and at the entrance to it, but affirms that there was no intrusion into the hall where the performance was taking place.

According to several journalists, the president was exfiltrated from the room around 10:30 p.m., surrounded by his security agents. On the videos broadcast in the evening, we can hear many whistles and hoots, "Macron, resignations", as well as slogans related to the pension reform.

A cordon of CRS formed and at least one police charge took place on the demonstrators, after a summons.

Earlier in the evening, journalist Taha Bouhafs had indicated on Twitter that he was attending this same performance and was "three rows behind the President of the Republic". “Activists are somewhere around the corner and are calling on everyone to come back. Something is brewing… the evening may be hectic, ”he also wrote.

According to independent journalist Charles Baudry, he was arrested for "organizing an undeclared demonstration". Information not confirmed yet by the police source interviewed by Le Parisien.

Another Twitter account had announced at 8.45 p.m. the president's presence in the theater. “Macron has just entered the Bouffes du Nord theater to attend a show! He laughs at us! Let us all be in front now to welcome it as it should be !! Said the author of the message.
