A fire broke out this Saturday at dawn at the La Rotonde restaurant in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, Le Parisien learned from concordant sources.
According to an official of the establishment, the fire started shortly after 5 am in the restaurant on boulevard du Montparnasse. The prefecture of police indicates for its part having been alerted by the anti-intrusion alarm of the establishment, around 5.30 am. The fire was contained by the firefighters, without causing any casualties.
La Rotonde "will remain closed for at least several days"
According to initial police findings, a fire started on the establishment's heated terrace. The manager of the restaurant said he smelled gasoline and that a window was broken, signs, according to him, of a criminal act.
Contacted, the prefecture of police cannot confirm these elements for the moment. The investigation to determine the causes of the disaster was entrusted to the Service of the Reception and the Investigation of Proximity (SAIP 56), confirms the parquet floor of Paris.
