Protester hit on the ground will be tried for violence on police officers

The protester hit on the ground by a police officer on Saturday during the Paris demonstration of the Yellow Vests will be tried later for violence on police officers, an incident subject to contradictory versions by the police and the defenders of Clement, his only element of known identity.

According to BFMTV, the doctor who observed the man hit on the ground while in police custody prescribed him four days of temporary interruption of work (ITT) due to bruises and an open wound to the skull which required several stitches.

For his part, the prefect of police launched an administrative investigation in order to "shed light on this action", a few days after a reminder of the exemplarity formulated by Christophe Castaner. "I saw these images which are shocking images for which the prefect of police immediately seized his services [...] to see if they can find an explanation", declared the minister Monday, in margin of a displacement with Rennes.

"Right now, I don't see any," added Christophe. Castaner. “The truth must be made known about this act and we must understand it. If there is a fault, it will be penalized, ”he added.
