Software giant announced that it will establish a Data Center in Israel, which will serve local Azure and Office365 customers for advanced applications • The Israeli data center joins another 55 regions in 21 countries
Microsoft today announced its intention to establish the company's first data center in Israel to provide Microsoft's smart, secure cloud services locally. This investment extends Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure to 56 regions in 21 different countries.
The Israeli region is expected to be available in 2021, first with the Azure cloud infrastructure and then with 365 Office. The new area in Israel will join one of the world's largest cloud infrastructures, serving over one billion customers and 20 million businesses. The Israeli region will be operated in accordance with Microsoft's cloud principles and standards.
Azure, is Microsoft's cloud platform, which provides access to on-demand computing and advanced services infrastructure including computing power, network services, databases, analytics technologies, artificial intelligence capabilities and IoT solutions. The investment in establishing a cloud area in Israel will allow users access to the most advanced technologies, while adhering to regulatory, storage and information security requirements in Israel.
Office 365 will also be available in the data center. Office 365 utilizes unprecedented computing power and provides innovative and advanced tools to organizations, including artificial intelligence-based applications, while strictly adhering to data security and privacy requirements and providing the ability to store information within the State of Israel.
The company also announced that 2020 will also include another major investment in the local market with the launch of Microsoft's new campus.
