A year of a successful struggle: After the pardon and release of Naama Issachar, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, arrived in Russia with his leased aircraft, to bring her and her dread to Israel. Netanyahu met with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this morning. At the start of their meeting, Netanyahu thanked Putin for "the swift decision to pardon Naama Issachar, a gesture that excites all of us and all Israeli citizens." Netanyahu landed in the Russian capital after his diplomatic visit to Washington and is expected to return to Israel this evening with the Israeli young woman and her beautiful mother.

Also joined by their meeting was Yaffe Issachar, whose daughter sat in the Russian prison for about 10 months for drug possession. In a joint statement after the meeting, the Russian president said, "I told Naama's mother, and I will say again, that everything will be all right." Putin explained that last week's meeting with Yaffe Issachar helped make his decision to pardon the Israeli young woman. "I decided to give her a pardon and that's a lot thanks to meeting her mother," the president said. "But keep in mind that they also found drugs in her bag. I wish her well and her family well."
