Astronaut Jessica Meyer unveiled the anti-radiation suit of Israeli startup StarMard on Thursday, and for the first time, the Israeli flag was flying on a suit at the International Space Station. This is another step towards the first trial of the space-suit.
The space radiation shield, developed by Stamrad, funded by the Israeli Space Agency at the Ministry of Science and Technology, was launched last November for the International Space Station. The company has developed a protective suit that is suitable for astronauts, and that women are more likely to be hit by life-threatening radiation in space. As part of the International Space Station experiments, three American astronauts will be wearing the space station's gravitational conditions for varying periods of time and during routine activities and test the suit's effectiveness. Later, the suit will also be launched on NASA's Orion spacecraft, where truth data will be obtained about its ability to protect from radiation.

Minister of Science and Technology, Ophir Akunis welcomed, saying, "We are breaking Israeli activity, creation and initiative in all areas of science and technology. The images from the International Space Station come exactly the week we mark the Israeli Space Week. I am proud of the developers of the first Israeli space suit that we all see tonight and the Israeli flag on it - also in space. The Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to support studies, space exploration and other initiatives that bring us all Israeli and international pride. "
Dr. Oren Milstein, CEO and founder of Stamrad, added: "There is nothing more gratifying than seeing the Israeli flag fly on the International Space Station and another Israeli Space Week. On the 17th anniversary of Ilan Ramon's departure, we are all proud to present a contribution to the world. A unique State of Israel for the protection of astronauts' health. "

Avi Blasberger, Director of the Israeli Space Agency at the Ministry of Science and Technology: "Today, the Israeli space suit was taken out of its packaging by astronaut Jessica Meir. This stage represents another step in the journey to make it a vital product in space-manned journeys. It is not symbolic that the event took place during the Israeli Space Week, held in memory of Ilan Ramon, the first Israeli astronaut. "
