NIS 100 million - this is the total indefinite debt of the stage according to hundreds of debt claims filed by creditors (including creators, actors, employees, suppliers and authorities) to the theater trustees. This is stated in the second report filed by the trustees this morning in Tel Aviv District Court, two months after being appointed by the court to stop the economic deterioration of the National Theater and to formulate a recovery plan. The trustees stated in the report that repayment of the theater's debts is expected to be spread over ten The years to come. However, they noted that "the theater has no power to serve debts of this magnitude, in the foreseeable future, from its sources. For without the support of the state, the national theater cannot exist."

Two months after being appointed by the Tel Aviv District Court to stop the economic deterioration of the National Theater and to formulate a recovery plan, this morning, Habima Trustees, Adv. Dorit Levy-Tiller, and CPA Chen Berdichev filed a plan to secure the National Theater's activities for the next century. " As part of the plan submitted for court approval, the trustees emphasize that they have filed hundreds of NIS 100 million in debt claims and that repayment of theater debts is expected to be spread over the next ten.

The report submitted by the Stage Trustees this morning, which includes a recovery plan, outlined several steps they intend to take "to enable the National Theater to run for the next century", including role consolidation, cost reduction, aggressive marketing and service provider cost savings. Work to achieve a significant sponsorship agreement.

To Walla! A well-known culture among these claims is contained in the claims of 28 creators, including directors, playwrights, interpreters, lighting designers and costumes, which require a total of about NIS 2 million and 100,000. These claims, filed Tuesday by attorney Dror David Nahum, were made on behalf of the creators Nathan Datner, Rami Vered, Amnon Levy, Ilan Ronen, Roni Pinkovich, Ziv Voloshin, Amir Castro, Yehudit Aharon, Hagit Nikolivsky, Svetlana Berger, Moti Lerner, Ziv Manor, Alon Jarrar, Shani Tor, Chen Danon Sachs and Hagar Danon Zahavi, Rebecca Mashalah, Tom Willinitz, Yaron Fried, Avi Yona Bueno, Ohad Hitman, Daphne Engel, Daphne Zilberg, Ziv Nevo, Ronnie Sinai, Uzi Weil , Roy Segev, Rafael Niv and Agent Zohar Jacobson.

The filmmakers indicate to the stage trustees that any amount not paid to them by the theater will be claimed by the State of Israel, the Ministry of Culture, which they claim to "know and ignore", and will personally sue the theater directors, members of the management who served during the relevant period and other factors in the theater.

In their lawsuit, the 28 creators claim that "a very bleak picture of the criminal, extreme and systematic conduct pattern" emerges from the stage, which they claimed included, among other things, signing agreements knowing that the theater could not exist and commissioning more and more works and rights knowing that the theater could not and could not exist. He can pay for them. They describe scattering of unchecked checks knowing that the theater does not have to repay them, talk about arranging "lull" meetings with filmmakers during which they are given false information and false promises to repay all debt payments.

The filmmakers also claim to exploit their plight to force a change in the terms of the agreements with them or a forced reduction of the consideration as a condition for making any payment, and as long as such creators do not surrender, they receive no consideration at all. They also describe showing false reports about the amount of royalties presented to creators who come from royalties, talk about inflating or "dressing" expenses that were not, or "billing" fictitious expenses in reporting to creators who earn royalties from their performances. In addition, they claim to hide the real show boards from royalty-free filmmakers, false promises to make reports and make payments, and embezzle funds raised by the theater for third-party creators in favor of creators. And all this, according to the creators, in a manner that amounts to fraud, fraud, fraud and false registration in corporate documents.

The obligations to these 28 creators are only a fraction of the hundreds of debt demands submitted to the stage trustees. One of the biggest debts is to Naomi Shemer's heirs and creators Oren Jacoby and Giora Diamond, whom the stage owes about NIS 800,000 together, as it was first published in Walla! culture. This is for the creation of the successful musical play "Landmarks" which deals with Naomi Shemer's life and embedded in her songs. "The amounts of debts indicate that there has been a method here over time," says two months ago to Walla! Culture of singer and musician Ariel Horowitz, the son of Naomi Shemer and one of her heirs. "I think what's behind the method is the feeling that the artists are an easy victim. It's not finance people but people who want to express themselves, so it may be more important to them than the payment itself. These working assumptions have allowed this method to run so long and to incur such debts. To put an end to that, even from the state's point of view, if you do not budget the stage properly, and from the point of view of the management who disrespected the creators.

Plus, as first published in Walla! Three months ago, from the Habima Creators Forum, the theater allegedly owes over 300,000 to Rami Vered, about 200,000 to Daniel Lapin, about 200,000 to Moti Lerner, about 150,000 to Nathan Detner, about 175,000 to Ilan Ronen, about 150,000 Thousands to Ronnie Pinkovich, more than 100,000 to Hanan Snir, more than 100,000 to Dawn of a book, 100,000 to Linz Levy and more.

More first published in Walla! Culture in January on estimates of debts of at least hundreds of thousands of shekels for international stage playwrights. Following one of the duties of Croatian playwright Miro Gabran, who wrote the play "My Wife's Husband" almost caused a diplomatic incident between Israel and Croatia, claiming that a few months ago, the Croatian ambassador met with the ousted director-general, Odelia Friedman, to complain that he was not paying Gabran for a play. Industry sources told us last month: "Failure to pay overseas filmmakers causes damage to the State of Israel."

Despite the tremendous difficulties, the report filed this morning demonstrates some optimism, saying they "hope and assume that 2020 will be a year of turnaround after many years of adversity and crisis. Investing in the planned measures, most of which are already embedded, restoring the trust of employees, suppliers and creators - will allow the year to end with a modest surplus, and prove that the stage has the ability and economic right to continue to exist for the next century, at least. "

Mehbima commented: "Past debts are not being handled by the current management, who was appointed to run the National Theater by the Tel Aviv District Court as of December 2019."

The Ministry of Culture's response has not yet been received. The ousted bima CEO did not respond again. Bima trustees did not respond either.
