The fifteen-year-old high school girl was rushed to the Timone emergency room.

Sunday evening, a fifteen-year-old girl died electrocuted by her mobile phone in her bath, in her apartment in the VIIIth arrondissement of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), reports La Provence on Monday. The fifteen-year-old high school girl was rushed to the Timone emergency room.

The device was in charge, explains the regional daily which recalls that a young Vitrollaise had suffered the same fate in December when her mobile phone fell in the water.

Already several precedents

Previous cases had led the DGCCRF (Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and the Suppression of Fraud) to issue an alert on the danger of using a phone while charging in a bathroom. In November 2018, a teenage girl lost her life in circumstances similar to Outreau, in Pas-de-Calais.

A mother of four died of an electrocution from her phone in Aubrives, in the Ardennes, last October. In January, a 45-year-old woman died in her bath in Dole, Jura, following the fall of her mobile phone in the water.
