The suicide of Flack, the former presenter of Love Island, one of Britain's favorite TV women, spurred the announcement. The signatories are calling on the government to investigate the media following the allegation of "abuse of people in front of the public eye, including Caroline Flack, Prince Harry and Meghan Merkel," as it was written in the petition, addressed to the new minister of culture, Oliver Dowden. "The headlines, harassment and trial by the media must be finalized and must be adjudicated."

Burton, Flack's girlfriend, referred to her death. "My heart broke, there was such a special thing between us," he wrote on his Instagram account. "I'm lost and without words, I'm in such great pain, I miss you so much. I know you felt safe with me. You always said 'I don't think of anything else when I'm with you'." The boyfriend added that he had been banned from contact with Plaque until trial, and signed the post saying "I love you with all my heart."

The British TV presenter was found dead in her home yesterday (Saturday) after putting an end to her life - and she is only 40 years old. Flack won "Dancing with the Stars" and landed a host of shows, including "Ex Factor" and more recently "Love Island." The star was also scheduled to direct her new season but was replaced at the last minute, following a legal action opened against her for assaulting her former partner, Burton. Flack was charged with trying to assault him with a lamp, the trial was scheduled to begin in early March. The star has denied the charges. For weeks, the British tabloids have been blatantly covering the affair with the star. She dropped a profile, walked away from social networks and felt disappointed and abandoned because of her attitude towards her. Particularly controversial was the behavior of the tabloid "Sun", which quickly erased a humiliating article in Falk's case and published a host of articles on dealing with mental distress, which led to his attack on social networks for his hypocrisy.

A statement from her family said: "Caroline has passed away. We ask the media to respect our privacy and not try to contact us or film us."
