The general exterior style recalls that of the older sisters, although deriving from the Series 1 with which it shares many technical aspects, with an elusive pavilion and a general sporty setting, however combined with increased habitability compared to the Series 1 and which will allow the Series 2 to be proposed also to markets in which the younger sister is not present. At a first glance from the outside, the new BMW Coupe is characterized by the classic double kidney grille, the side doors without a frame and a general line lengthened specifically for the occasion in addition to the new design for the lights in the rear, designed to 'widen' and widen the optical groups in width. The interior features exclusive design details, high-quality materials and, upon request, a fully digital cockpit and a 10.25 '' central screen. On the roads of Portugal, for the dynamic test of the new 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW brought two different engines: the gritty one of the M235i and the 2-liter turbodiesel. The first of the two is the one powered by the most powerful 4-cylinder ever built by BMW, with its 306CV and equipped with the xDrive all-wheel drive that allows the coupe to show muscles even under the hood, in addition to the aggressive body style with sockets. air and a small rear wing. The character of the M2351 is condensed in the Sport function selectable on the central tunnel, which immediately makes the accelerator. The control unit takes care of the rest, making gear changes more aggressive and thus emphasizing the general sporty character of the car. The Torsen mechanical self-locking front differential, featured as standard on this car, also makes the difference. The Diesel version, on the other hand, while allowing you to maintain a spirited driving style, also allows you to appreciate the great touring skills of this new Gran Coupé.

In terms of infotainment, both on the 220d and M235i there is a new system that allows you to connect smartphones, both Apple and Android, without the need for any cables. On the driver assistance systems front, the Reverse Assistant function should also be mentioned, thanks to which the car stores the last fifty meters of road traveled forward, to allow you to exit from tight spaces or blind parking spaces independently and in reverse. The list of options with which to customize a car that will arrive in Italian dealers starting next spring with prices starting from 32 thousand euros for the 218i, up to 53,500 euros for the M235i, is endless. 41,500 euros will be the price for the 220d diesel.
