Acupuncture was born in the East long before our era and has been the subject of renewed interest since the 1960s, under the influence of Mao Tse-tung. This practice is based on the idea that the body is crossed by a vital energy, qi, which flows through channels called meridians. An imbalance or blockage of this energy would manifest as health problems. "By treating the acupuncture points with needles, we release the energies, we regulate this vitality of the breaths in order to make them harmonious" , suggests Dr Gilles Andres, doctor and president of the Association
