It is only 2.41 meters long and 1.39 meters wide: the Ami by Citroën is a kind of shoe box on wheels. What's in it
Cologne (dpa / tmn) - Citroën is launching its electric mini-mobile Ami as a production model. The French "friend" starts as an inexpensive alternative for beginners, second and third-car buyers as well as sharing services and mobility concepts.
Little friend from 16
The Ami is designed for the AM license and can therefore be used from the age of 16. According to the manufacturer, sales in France begin in the spring at prices from 6000 euros or for leasing rates of around 20 euros per month. In Germany, where the prices have not yet been fixed, the Ami should be available later in the year.
Just like the study, the production model is a kind of shoe box on wheels. With a length of 2.41 meters and a width of 1.39 meters, it only occupies a minimal traffic area and, with a turning circle of 7.20 meters, should also be very handy. The Ami offers space for two people who enter through asymmetrically hinged doors: it opens conventionally on the passenger side, while the driver climbs in against the direction of travel.
Up to 70 kilometers range
The Ami is powered by an electric motor that enables a speed of 45 km / h. With the power from a 5.5 kWh battery, it should travel up to 70 kilometers. After that, the small car, which weighs less than 500 kilos, has to be plugged into the household socket for three hours.
