Almost five months to the day after the fire at the Lubrizol factory in Rouen, the Paris public prosecutor's office has just placed the company under investigation for suspicions of environmental damage.
While the causes and place of origin of this disaster are still unknown, Lubrizol is suspected of having released harmful substances into groundwater, surface water or the sea, but also of non-compliance with the regulations of a classified installation.
Following its indictment, the company Lubrizol France was placed under judicial control, with the obligation to pay a bond in the amount of 375,000 euros and the obligation to provide security up to 4,000,000 euros, in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution.
The neighboring company NL Logistique was placed under the status of assisted witness in this investigation.
