Two months after its emergence in China, the new coronavirus Sars-CoV-2 is beginning to be better understood. We now know that it is particularly dangerous for the elderly and those already suffering from a disease (diabetes, heart or chronic respiratory disease in particular). In the over 80s, the mortality rate is around 15%, while it is only 2.3% for all those infected.
Reassuringly, the data also show that, in 8 out of 10 cases, the infection is not serious. It resolves spontaneously in a few days. But what about children, the usual targets of seasonal viruses?
