A man was indicted Wednesday in Paris, after the discovery of 23,060 protective masks, which he sold illegally since they are requisitioned at the request of the government, we learned on Saturday from the Paris prosecutor's office.
This individual, who stored his goods in a utility vehicle in the 16th arrondissement, was indicted for "deceptive marketing practices", "refusal to submit to an administrative requisition" and "scam", said this source, confirming information of the world. The largest seizure since the start of the crisis
This is the largest seizure of protective masks in the capital since the government banned their resale, as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Previously, 20,000 masks had been discovered in particular in a travel agency in the 13th arrondissement. Its manager, a 47-year-old woman, is to be tried on April 21 before the criminal court.
In total, fourteen investigations have been initiated to date by the Paris prosecutor's office for offenses relating to the sale of protective masks or hydroalcoholic gel. Only one resulted in the opening of judicial information.
