The Ile-de-France region has already gained 800 intensive care beds last week, going from 1,200 to 2,000 beds.


With 5,000 resuscitation beds at the start, France has risen to 10,000 beds, of which 4,273 were already occupied by Covid patients on Sunday. " From now on, we want to reach a target of 14,000 to 14,500 resuscitation beds throughout the national territory ," said Olivier Véran on Saturday evening.

To achieve this, the government must loosen four bottlenecks: find beds, but above all equip them with respirators, supply them with medicines (curare in particular is under tension) and consumables (electric syringe pumps in particular are lacking) , and of course mobilize trained staff ... Knowing that it takes 4 to 5 caregivers for a bed! Only one of the four parameters is missing in the chain, and it is impossible to function. Therein lies the difficulty.
