Respirators: towards a sacred union of industrialists

2020-03-30T19:54:25.716Z

Around Air Liquide, a consortium composed of PSA, Valeo, Schneider Electric, Seb, Bic and Eolane is taking shape.

It's urgent. While the peak of the epidemic has not yet been reached, France lacks respirators. The country is said to have around 30,000 machines, about a third of which are used for resuscitation services. Olivier Véran announced Saturday the goal of going from 10,000 to 14,000 resuscitation beds equipped with respirators.

In France, Air Liquide, the only manufacturer to manufacture them on the territory, has boosted its production capacities, in particular those of its Antony factory which manufactures ventilators intended for hospitals. The company will supply 1,100 in April, against 500 the previous month. "We doubled our production capacities in March, we will triple them in April and quadruple in May, " said an Air Liquide spokesperson. We work in coordination with the authorities, we are mobilized to meet needs. "

Eolane, one of its main subcontractors, which had closed its factory on March 17, had to reopen it immediately given the urgency of the situation.
