- What is still allowed?
We have collected the current regulations in the most important areas and present them below, but without guarantee, because of course there may be short-term current changes.
Are workshops open?
They are considered systemically important , so they may have opened further. Pure trading companies, on the other hand, do not; the closure regulation applies to them. In so-called mixed companies (with workshops and sales), goods may be sold in the by-sale. Safety-related repairs must not be postponed , and prescribed maintenance intervals should also be observed. You can currently do without cosmetic repairs. However, since the workshops can also have personnel problems, appointments should not be made at short notice.
Petrol stations: are the fuels sufficient?
The supply of fuel to the population * is fundamentally secured even in the Corona crisis, the Bavarian petrol station industry emphasizes. The association of petrol station operators emphasizes that the current stocks would be sufficient to supply the population for at least 90 days . Occasional bottlenecks due to lack of staff among drivers or petrol station personnel are possible.
Motorway service areas: are there no more food and drinks?
Although all restaurants in Bavaria are closed, the supply of food and drinks along the motorway is secured. The company Tank + Rast has found a solution together with the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior: From now on there are to-go offers with hot and cold dishes . As already reported, access to the washing facilities in the toilets is now free of charge at almost all rest areas in the Free State.
Fittingly: Sanifair toilets at motorway service stations are now free - because of the corona virus.
Breakdown assistance - as usual?
The automobile clubs have emphasized that they continue to help their retired members . The call volume is currently significantly lower than usual, but everyone is on standby. If it is not possible for people to be in the driver's cabin of the tow truck because of the risk of infection, alternatives would be sought on site, with additional costs showing the greatest possible goodwill, according to the ADAC.
Is the international emergency number still working?
The ADAC emphasizes that nothing has changed in the activity of the international emergency call . Members who are in need abroad are still advised and looked after.
Winter tires: can i let them wind up?
Since the exchange for summer tires is not yet pending according to the October-Easter rule , you should rather wait - especially since there have been winter road conditions in the last few days anyway. A few more weeks with winter tires is no problem . Some tire dealers have already announced that they will not charge an additional fee for closer storage.
Are general examinations carried out?
In principle, the date of the main inspection should not be exceeded. Exceeding the deadline is usually without consequences for the first two months, after which there is a fine of 15 euros. Now the grace period has been temporarily extended to four months, only then are the 15 euros due . There is a point in Flensburg if the appointment is exceeded by eight months or more, and it also costs 75 euros. It becomes really problematic when you cause an accident with an expired badge that is caused by a technical defect that might have been discovered during a main inspection. Then the insurance company can refuse to pay.

Are driving tests taking place?
The tests are suspended until April 19, 2020 inclusive . According to TÜV Süd, paid fees are charged and there are no cancellation costs. Are driving schools open?
A so-called operating ban applies until April 19, 2020. That means there will be no driving lessons, no simulator lessons and no theory lessons until then.
MPU: Does it take place?
Assessments of the MPU in all TÜV Süd service centers will be suspended until April 19, 2020 . The employees can be reached by phone or email, and existing appointments are postponed.
Can I still go to the admissions office?
Public traffic is currently closed due to current exit restrictions . Only services that are necessary for the maintenance of public life are offered in Munich. In the Munich area, new registrations are still possible via dealers.
Can I drive to the car wash?
Visiting a self-service car wash to clean your vehicle is not considered a vital activity and is therefore a violation of the general decree . In Munich, it is allowed to wash your vehicle on private property if the wastewater enters the city sewerage system (not every gully leads to the sewage system!), No cleaning agents and no high-pressure cleaners are used and no engine washing is carried out.
Car trade: how about my car purchase?
Direct consultation and inspection with the customer is currently not permitted. Resourceful sales consultants are expanding their online offerings even further and, in individual cases, also switching to video advice. The seller sends the prospective customer live videos of the dream car, shows details and can also demonstrate the sound.
