LE FIGARO. - Are you preparing to experience such an epidemic wave?

Gilles BLOCH. - Not a crisis of such magnitude, no, even if we took it very seriously in January and started to plan the research actions to be launched as quickly as possible. As of February we had set up a dedicated scientific council responsible for identifying priority issues. Since then, we have been working on around twenty projects.

What are they?

First understand how the virus behaves and analyze the progression of the disease. This is essential for making adequate decisions such as that of containment. And of course work on treatments and a vaccine to stop the disease.

When can we expect effective treatment?

We launched a huge European program on March 22, the Discovery trial. Ultimately, the objective is to measure the effects of four therapeutic protocols used to control a cohort of more than 3000 people.
