However, since a minimum distance of at least 1.5 meters cannot be maintained in most vehicles, only people from the same household should be transported in the same car. In the meantime, family members are allowed to drive together in the same vehicle.
Do I have to or can I wear a face mask in the car?
The mask requirement in Germany * has been in effect since April 27 . If you are in supermarkets or other shops as well as on public transport, you must wear an appropriate mouthguard. The rule does not apply in private cars . If you still want to wear a face mask at the wheel *, you must make sure that the facial features remain essentially recognizable - this is not a problem with conventional masks. Furthermore, the citizens should refrain from private trips and national excursions . The federal government's worldwide travel warning is valid until June 14 . There are border controls at the borders with Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland, but some easing will also follow here by the end of the month. Corona crisis: ADAC continues to work as usual
The ADAC recently advised against unnecessary trips across Germany . "Every exit poses a certain risk of breakdowns or accidents. Leaving the machine at standstill avoids unnecessary dangers for breakdown helpers or emergency services, " explained ADAC lawyer Stefan Bergmann. Nevertheless, the ADAC employees continue to work as usual and are obliged to adhere to the recommended hygiene measures.
