Double drama this weekend in the Mont-Blanc massif. Two people, who were not together, died while a third was hospitalized at the Sallanches hospital (Haute-Savoie).
The High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) of Chamonix has indeed indicated that it intervened around 12:45 pm for a ski accident on the east face of Mont-Blanc du Tacul, in the Gervasutti corridor. Two steep skiers, in their twenties, fell "over several hundred meters," said the rescuers. One of them was "killed instantly", the other was "slightly injured" and transported by the Dragon 74 helicopter to the hospital.
Rescuers also found late Sunday afternoon the lifeless body of a man in his sixties, whose delay "worrying" had been reported in the morning. The man left alone Friday from Les Houches "probably to reach Mont-Blanc" fell between the shelters of the Eagle's Nest and Tête Rousse, said a rescuer of the PGHM.
