In recent years there has been inflation of money transfer apps - such as Beat, Paybox and Pepper - and are expected to be hit very soon. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and Facebook co-founder of Watasap, announced on Monday on a social networking post that Wattsap is joining the trend and has begun an experiment in Brazil that allows payments to be received and transferred within the app.
How It Works? Once you tap on a particular contact, in addition to transferring photos or files, you will see a "Payment" button, where you can enter an amount and send to that person. You will need to pre-associate your watsap with your bank account, so you can spend and put money into other contacts who have also signed up for the service.
"Today we are starting to run the payment service for people using Wattsap in Brazil," Zuckerberg wrote. "We make the receipt and sending of money as simple as sharing photos. We also allow small businesses to make direct sales within Wattsap."
"I want to thank all of our partners for allowing this. We work with local banks and Brazil is the first country in which we make widespread payments in Wattsap. More soon!", Zuckerberg concluded.
