Two French jihadists, one of whom was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison in his absence in France, were arrested in northern Syria, AFP learned on Tuesday from sources familiar with the matter, confirming information from Le Point .

Emilie Khiari, from the jihadist sector of Albertville (Savoie), was sentenced in his absence on June 25 by a special assize court in Paris. An arrest warrant has been issued against him.
According to Le Point , the 28-year-old woman was captured " a week ago " in an area controlled by Turkish forces, with another woman, Pascale Reymonenq, also subject to an arrest warrant for criminal association terrorist.
" According to the French intelligence services, (Emilie Khiari) had been reported in 2016 in the combat zone ," writes Le Point. " She was once taken prisoner by the free Syrian army, which is fighting both the Bashar al-Assad regime and the jihadists of the Islamic State organization ."
