Instagram unsubscribed a post by Florencia Kirchner, the daughter of the vice president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who raised a stir on social networks at her complaint. It was a publication demanding a militant for the liberation of Palestine . And the explanation is in the rules that Instagram has and the United States' consideration of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (FPAP).

"Violence is that they don't let us speak," Flor K had complained after a post about Leila Khaled, the political activist and militant of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine who also participated in the hijacking of a commercial airplane in 1969 and in the frustrated attempt to repeat the operation in 1970.

The situation was highly discussed throughout Friday, between supports and detractions. But what many wondered was what was the criteria that caused Instagram to lower the publication.

Instagram's “community standards” policy

The social network has a series of policies to be able to publish, which can be visited here. This they say:

On Instagram, we do not accept activities or people who support or praise terrorism, organized crime, or groups that promote hate. Neither is the offering of sexual services nor the purchase or sale of firearms, alcohol and tobacco products between people, nor the purchase or sale of prescription or illegal medications (even if it is legal in your area). The sale of live animals between individuals is also prohibited, although physical stores may post offers of this type on Instagram. Coordination of poaching or sale of endangered species or their parts is not permitted.

Remember to comply with the law at all times when you offer to buy or sell regulated goods. Accounts promoting gambling, real money games of skill or lotteries on the internet must obtain our written consent before using our products.

We do not show any tolerance for those who share sexual content related to minors or who threaten to publish intimate images of other users.

Now, Clarín contacted the social network and the response was that "the case is quite clear" , and that it is contemplated in the publication standards that the social network admits or rejects.

It happens that the United States considers the FPAP to be a terrorist organization , as can be seen on the official website of the US State Department. Since August 1997 it has been included in the list:

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine? (FPAP), considered a terrorist for the United States. (US Department of State)

For this, Instagram considered that the posting of Flor K incited hatred.

“My post had no insults, no discrimination, no mention of terrorist organizations. It alluded to the plan for the annexation of territories that was in the news the last two days and highlighted a historical figure of the resistance. Every day they propose a new burial in the language of submission ”, Florencia Kirchner downloaded.
