Very rare: The night two hours before sunrise, one could see in the skies of Israel a very rare natural phenomenon that is not seen every day. At four in the morning, the comet NEOWISE passed in the sky, appearing very close to the horizon at a height of 3 degrees in a northeasterly direction.

Those who were equipped with simple binoculars could even see the various parts of the comet: its aura and nucleus. It should be noted that even tomorrow, those who will be resurrected before sunrise will be able to see the comet around four in the morning, near the horizon.

The comet is named after the space telescope that discovered it on March 27 this year. It is a comet that has revolved around the sun for over 3,000 years, when on July 3 this year, it passed near the sun at a distance of only 44 million km, which is closer to the sun than a hot star. This proximity to the sun caused the comet's ice parts to evaporate. Large and bright that come out of it behind it and make it literally one of the brightest objects in the sky.

It will be possible to see this fascinating astronomical phenomenon even after the 14th of the month, only then the time of day, when it will be possible to see the unique phenomenon, will be the early evening hours. But in Israel, in order to see the comet at these hours, it will be necessary to leave the cities for the area without light pollution. Those who want to take advantage of the evening hours, should settle in a place with good visibility about an hour after sunset close to nine o'clock at night. Then one will have to look for the object very low just above the northwestern horizon.

As the days of the month pass, the comet will move farther and farther away from the sun and move closer to Earth, with its maximum point of proximity being July 23, when it will pass 100 million kilometers from our Earth. But as a result of the distance from the sun, the comet's brightness will fade and the ice trails will disappear, so good field binoculars or telescopes will be needed to view it.
