The Government of the United Kingdom announced Tuesday that 202 1 prohibit telecom operators to acquire Huawei 5G technology , to ensure safety, following the sanctions applied to US - Chinese company.
In a statement before the House of Commons, the Minister for Culture, Digital, Sports and Media, Oliver Dowden, said that all the infrastructure provided so far by Huawei will be removed from British territory between now and 2027.
The move comes after China is threatening the kingdom with leaving it without cell phones and without electricity due to the degree of penetration in recent years of British infrastructure projects, including its nuclear production.
