Will the company, which boasts an impressive annual growth rate of about 800%, succeed in capturing the heart of the Israeli as Shiomi did? We checked | Reviews

This is a Chinese manufacturer that is not really recognized in Israel, and in the world, if only for the reason that it is a company less than two years old. • Will the company, which boasts an impressive annual growth rate of about 800 percent, succeed in capturing the Israeli's heart? We tested the Realme 6

Hardware and screen

The Realme 6 comes in white or blue, both inspired by a comet which adds to it the aroma of a premium device. The device is equipped with an octa-core processor Helio G90T from Chinese Mediatek and 4 GB of RAM. Like its competitors, it also has a dual slot for two Nano-Sims and unlike many, it is equipped with an SD memory card slot, which can certainly compensate for 128 GB of storage. The battery, with a capacity of 4,300 mAh, no longer surprises anyone when it easily skips to the next day no matter what our sin.

The 6.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 by 2400 and a pixel density of 405 ppi comes with a shell of Gorilla Glass 3. True it sounds a bit outdated but the addition of a screen protector that comes directly from the factory, like Samsung recently, and can be relaxed. The screen to body ratio stands at 84.1%, we have seen quality of it, a refresh rate of 90Hz definitely slightly compensates for that and if you like games or watching movies it definitely looks good. The colors are clean and the lighting is pleasant, although it is a little difficult to enjoy using the sunlight of the Israeli summer.

Similar to the Pokémon 2 we reviewed on the channel recently, the Realme 6 is also equipped with a classic 3.5mm headphone jack and also comes with a monophonic and non-stereo speaker. The power key is located on the right side of the top third of the device, very inconvenient location and many times The same reason. The reason for the location is rooted in the fingerprint sensor in the button. If you are a fan of the genre - you have won. The identification is quick and accurate. If this is less your part then it will take you time to get used to the button location.

A reminder of the past

Once upon a time, before everyone copied from everyone without shame, every maker was proud of the unique gestures it developed and added to Google's operating system. LG was the first to introduce the world to the option of taking a screenshot using the "touch" of the fingers (along with another feature of drawing a circle on the screen in favor of a quick opening of the camera), a feature that was copied by almost all Android manufacturers. In Realme they upgraded the option and added a partial photo according to the finger-pulling section. In a world where we all send a screenshot of WhatsApp correspondence, it definitely saves time in cropping the screenshot.

The Realme 6 comes with the Android 10 system and the company's shell interface, Realme UI, has nothing to extend in words; It is very reminiscent of that of Shiomi and apart from the possibility of a partial screenshot there are no exciting innovations.

Camera

On paper, the camera of the Realme 6 is equipped with the usual specifications of flagship devices from the past year, meaning four camera lenses. The first is a 64-megapixel wide-angle lens at the f / 1.8 junction key. A second lens, Ultrawide, has a resolution of 8 megapixels and a third lens is a macro lens with a resolution of 2 megapixels and an aperture key of f / 2.4. The fourth lens, as usual, is a depth of field sensor with a resolution of 2 megapixels. The lens specifications in the model in the Realme 6 Pro are slightly different and instead of a depth-of-field sensor you will find a telephoto lens with a resolution of 12 megapixels and with a double optical zoom.

Back to the regular model - the default in the main camera is a 16-megapixel photo and it produces a sharp and clear image (especially in daylight) with beautiful and "unreinforced" colors; Definitely a decent value for a device with a very low price tag in exchange for such rich camera specs. Choosing a 64-megapixel resolution slightly improves the quality (at the expense of file size) but the improvement is especially noticeable in zoom-in so it is not really mandatory to use the highest quality.

An image in dark (or cloudy) lighting, and sometimes also in interior lighting, provides images with less richness in detail but this is especially noticeable in the margins. It should not be forgotten that even the cameras in the most advanced models sometimes suffer from the phenomenon (albeit to a lesser extent). All in all, this is an absolutely worthy camera, all the more so when you remember the low price tag. The macro camera does the job reasonably well but do not challenge it. Video capture supports 4K resolution at 30 fps. It also does a reasonable job plus though it will not knock you off the chair, certainly if you are used to premium models.

The front camera is equipped with a sensor with a resolution of 16 megapixels and provides good images. Again, in the Pro model you will find an improvement in the form of another front lens - an Ultrawide lens with a resolution of 8 megapixels.

The selfie camera viewfinder is located on the left side of the screen and this is an advantage as it is barely noticeable on the screen. On the other hand, the location makes it difficult to take selfies. It took us a long time to find a good grip so that our finger would not get into the frame. A bit annoying, especially if you discovered a "piece" of it just by watching later.

One last note on photography - the Realme 6 is equipped with not bad hardware data in relation to the category of intermediate devices but we were bothered by the slowness in the operation of the camera. It felt like opening the camera takes half a second too long (true, it may sound a bit petty but it's an annoying delay when you want to shoot fast). Coincidentally and filmed a long video here too we felt we should wait less for the camera interface to come back.

The bottom line

It is important to remember that this is a mid-range device and it is indeed so in most sectors, except for the higher quality screen and it is a big plus. Apparently we got used to slightly more powerful mid-range devices and if the penny is in your pocket it's well worth considering the Pro version which should be considerably faster (thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 720G processor and an additional 4GB of memory). For the humble user looking to not spend a lot of money on an efficient device, the performance of the standard version will definitely suffice; For those whose patience and beyond is worth considering the Pro (plus about 300 NIS).

The price of the Realme 6 is 999 NIS, sold in the Bug chain, and it includes a one-year warranty. There is no doubt that a three-digit price tag is a huge advantage and there is no value-for-money ratio, at least for now. We were happy with a slightly stronger performance. There's a price. Just keep it that way and not get more expensive like Shiomi has been doing lately.
