Watch: Less than a day after the unveiling of Samsung's new flagship devices, we went to check them out closely • Is there really a significant change from the previous generation? This is what we thought

Moments after the unveiling of Samsung's new Galaxy Note 20 series last night (Wednesday), we got a chance to see and feel them up close. The series includes, as last year, two smartphones in different sizes - Note 20 with a 6.7-inch screen, and Note 20 Ultra with a 6.9-inch screen. The price in Israel has not yet been revealed, but it is already possible to place an advance order through the various marketers.

With no major changes in appearance, both models come with a different size Super AMOLED Plus screen and a 'hole' shaped recess at the top middle of the screen for the selfie camera. The regular model, Note 20, incorporates a 6.7-inch screen, while the Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch screen. According to Samsung, like last year, it is still convenient to hold both devices in one hand despite the size of the screen.

Only small changes

Externally it does not look like the two have undergone a major change from the previous generation, apart from the screen size and camera. This time too the big screens do not reciprocate kindness with many of us who are used to both holding the device and operating it with the same hand. And Samsung, as well as other manufacturers, have enlarged the screens even further - making operation impossible. In addition, the back is like a fingerprint magnet.

Meanwhile, the Note 20 series offers the best experience from a Samsung device, and if you haven’t upgraded your smartphone in a few years, you might want to consider the new devices as an option. Also, the screen as expected from a spectacular Samsung flagship device, with saturated and accurate colors. Despite the rather small design change, it is the most beautiful device that Samsung has released to date, and quite a few will want to purchase it just because of how it looks thanks to the solid color.

As for the photo array, in a few individual photos I took with the two devices one can notice the difference in photo quality between the regular model and the ultra model, as it comes with a more advanced photo array that includes a 108 megapixel main camera.

The battery in the standard Note 20 has a capacity of 4,300 mAh, and the ultra model has a capacity of 4,500 mAh. Both come with a USB-C connection, 50 percent fast charging option in just 30 minutes (with a separate separate charger), and PowerShare support - reverse charging that allows you to charge on the backs of smartphones or other products that support wireless charging.

The two come with the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset in a version that will sell in the US and China, and in the rest of the world with an Exynos 990 processor, including in Israel. Alongside this, the model that will be sold in Israel is equipped with 8 GB of RAM, along with 256 GB of volume storage.

Want to buy? Pre-order opened

Basani, the official importer of Samsung in Israel, as well as the Dynamics chain and the Bezeq Store chain , announced that it is already possible to place an advance order on the website at a cost of NIS 99. Meanwhile, in companiesThe first customers to register as part of the pre-order will receive the Galaxy Buds Live headphones worth NIS 699 as a gift.
