Cases of fraud and false publications have always existed, even in products as onerous as they are cars. But the pandemic and quarantine increased not only electronic sales , but also increased commercial cheating.

Volkswagen Argentina came out to report several cases of scams that have appeared in recent times.

In some cases they request CBU or personal data that is never requested by social networks or WhatsApp.

"We have detected false notices and communications that fraudulently offer financing for the purchase of 0 km units," they indicated from the local branch of the German company.

The scam maneuvers include "the deposit of funds through accounts supposedly operated by Volkswagen Argentina SA, or by some dealers in the Volkswagen network or by non-existent official agencies or collection entities".

In some of these cases, even "the name of Volkswagen Argentina SA officials" are included.

Since the company ratified the fraudulent nature of these offers, made in order to attract third party funds illegally .

Based on these detected cases, the company gave a series of recommendations not to fall for this type of scam.

For this he recalled that "Volkswagen Argentina will never ask them to make cash payments, collections or home visits", in the same way that they will not "ask them to make deposits to CBU numbers, nor in bank accounts for operations that are not specifically defined by Volkswagen Argentina on its official websites ".

It also recommends that users "do not accept contacts or send their identity card or card details or bank account information through social networks, W hatsApp or the like."

And in the event that any offer or communication arouses any kind of suspicion, the best thing to do is to contact the company to ratify it, either at an official dealer or through its call centers: at CABA 0800-555-8922 and inside the country 0810-555-8922.

And for digital contacts there are only the following routes: to the mail serviciosalcliente@vw.com.ar. or the official website www.volkswagen.com.ar.
