A 25-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody on Saturday, suspected of assaulting the mayor of Croisilles (Pas-de-Calais), we learned from concordant sources.
Friday evening, Gérard Dué, the mayor of this town of 2000 inhabitants near Arras, was called for night noise. Arrived on the spot, he was "overthrown by the individual responsible for these noise pollution", we learned from the Pas-de-Calais prefecture, confirming information from La Voix du Nord.
Slightly injured, the mayor was hospitalized and lodged a complaint.

On Saturday, a 25-year-old young man was arrested and taken into custody for "violence against a person holding public authority," said the Arras prosecutor's office.
In a tweet, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin said he had called the mayor of Croisilles "to give him all (his) support)". "These acts must not go unpunished because behind a mayor, it is the Republic which is attacked", he added.
