VERIFICATION - While the Scientific Council is concerned about the relaxation of the French, should we fear a resumption of the epidemic because of tourism?

THE QUESTION. " The balance is fragile and we can switch at any time " towards an uncontrolled resumption of the Covid-19 epidemic in France, the Scientific Council warned Tuesday, August 4, insisting on the importance of barrier measures. The authority still considers " highly probable that a second epidemic wave will be observed in the fall or winter ", following the mixing of the population during the summer holidays. However, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Brittany, a region where the reproduction rate of the virus is currently one of the highest in France, claims to observe only " a weak correlation between tourism and the spread of virus". Should we be worried about the influx of tourists? Did they play a role in the spread of the virus?
