Not every day there is an open statement of normalization with an Arab state. Not every day Israel abandons a political paradigm with far-reaching consequences like the plan to annex the territories. The two happened at once yesterday, bound together as a surprising move by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A national holiday or a political spin to beware of? Contemporary peace, or simply surface exposure of existing and known relationships? A value appeal and a strategic achievement or abandonment of Netanyahu's election guarantee, and a turning back to his supporters? Achievement to the right or left? Peace, conflict, settlements, what the emirates will benefit from the cooperation - in the end maybe the Israelis are interested in other things.
