There are many musicians in the world, but few if any are also teachers - and not just teachers, but citizenship teachers. Yuval Mendelssohn wears the two hats and if the school year does open as a series, at the beginning of September he will return to teach citizenship (and also cinema) at one of the high schools in Israel.

Last spring, in the midst of the Corona, Mendelssohn combined his two pursuits and under the name Yuval the bastard released the album "Good Citizenship", which as its name implies is based entirely on the material of matriculation in the profession he teaches - with songs like "Constitutional Elements" and "Principle of Restriction of Government" .

Towards the beginning of the school year, the singing teacher was hosted on a Walla Culture podcast. He explained how his students were affected by the fact that they did not actually know another prime minister from Netanyahu, and why he went with them to demonstrations against him ("There are people there who were silenced by Bibi. It is God's fear, but it is forbidden to bow one's head in front of the bully).

Mendelssohn, who became famous as the lead singer of the band Sheige, also spoke about the article in "Ulpan Shishi" in which Yona Avrushmi was interviewed, who stars with Yigal Amir in one of his songs. "In such a crazy period, Yona Avershumi is also coming back. It is not unreasonable that one day Bibi will sign a surplus agreement with him," he said.

And also: on the problematics of the concept of "majority decision"; About the nightmare of living in Corona in a small apartment with two children and a huge dog; On the journey to Poland and the gap between what one is supposed to feel and what one feels.

And if all that is not enough, then in addition to musical activities and teaching citizenship, Mendelssohn is also a filmmaker, who teaches the field and previously directed "Cats on a Pedal Boat", one of the only horror comedies made in Israel. In the podcast, he talks about the scripts he would have dreamed of executing, including a kind of Israeli version of "Reverse Friday" starring Dan Margalit and Dan Toren.
