Anyone who buys a car wants to be able to rely on the model not having any defects. Of course, from time to time any vehicle can cause unexpected problems. But it gets annoying when the affected model is known to have certain production defects. A UK consumer portal found out from a large motorist survey that this is the case with seven popular models. A BMW * is also included.

These seven car models have recurring defects

The British consumer portal "Which?" Carried out a survey in which almost 50,000 drivers took part (via Daily Mail). It ranks as one of the largest and most reliable surveys in the UK. In this year's survey, seven cars stood out. Each of these models therefore has a certain production error that often leads to recurring breakdowns. These are the following seven vehicles and defects :

  • BMW 5 Series Touring (year of construction 2010 to 2017) - problems with the suspension
  • Range Rover Velar (year of manufacture from 2017) - Faulty on-board computer software
  • Range Rover Sport (year of manufacture from 2013) - Faulty on-board computer software
  • Nissan Juke (model year 2010 to 2019) - problems with the fuel system; Difficulty starting the engine
  • Nissan Pulsar (year of manufacture 2014 to 2018) - problems with the car battery
  • Nissan Qashqai (year of manufacture from 2014) - problems with the car battery
  • Tesla Model S (year of manufacture from 2013) - Error in the automatic door handles

How BMW, Tesla & Co. react

The consumer portal demands that the seven affected models should be recalled immediately , as these survey results indicate "serious production problems ". The manufacturers had been informed about the recurring defects.

Nissan has already responded and replaced a supplier of individual parts. In addition, 35,000 potentially affected Qashqai owners have been contacted so that their cars can receive an update.

Meanwhile, neither BMW , Land Rover nor Tesla had agreed to start a recall. Some are said to have even tried to deny the problems. The consumer portal fears that many motorists will sooner or later face high repair costs.
