Apple vs. Epic Games, Fortnite's game studio, in another round: After Apple and Google removed the popular game "Fortnite" in perfect sync, now Apple is taking another step against the popular game. After threatening to close Fortnite's developer account at the end of August, Apple did so and at the same time began promoting Fortnite's rival, PUBG within the app store.

As you may recall, Apple and Google removed the game, claiming that Fortnite had incorporated an internal payment mechanism that bypassed Apple's and Google's lead mechanism, thus preventing Epic Games from paying a 30 percent commission on each purchase. Google and Apple removed the app in perfect sync, and Fortnite, which was pre-arranged for that, launched a campaign against Apple that included filing a lawsuit, advertisements against Apple and a network campaign.

"We are disappointed that we had to close the Epic Games developer account in our stores," Apple responded. "We've been working with the team at Epic Games for many years, at all launches. The court has recommended that Epic comply with the app store rules, as they have done for the past half decade. "It's not fair to the other developers in the Appstore, and Epic chose to put customers in the middle of the debate. We hope we can work together in the future, but unfortunately that is not possible at this stage," they added.

Apple added that Epic is creating a load in Apple's customer service, sending frustrated customers into its customer service. In addition to Fortnite, Epic develops an innovative game engine that is available to all different developers. Earlier this week, a federal court in the United States banned the development of a developer engine for developers. However, they added that Fortnite will remain out of the app store until Epic complies with Apple's rules.

Since Fortnight was removed from the app store, users in Israel and around the world have started selling iPhones with the game, at huge prices that can reach up to NIS 9,000. It should be noted that unlike the iPhone, where the popular game can now not be installed, on Android the app can be downloaded through the official Epic website and thus play Fortnite via the smartphone.
