Introductory video for the launch of the LG Wing (PR)

After canceling almost every possible series and launching the "premium" Velvet device, technology giant LG is sending out an invitation to a virtual press conference to be held on September 14th.

At the event, LG will unveil a new smartphone with a rotating screen, which goes by the code name "LG Wing".

Project Explorer

Meet Project Explorer - a new project that LG is working on and where it is trying to develop smartphones that will make users explore new usage options.

Most of the devices are expected to be 'premium' devices based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors.

As part of the project, LG will test a number of devices with the first being the "LG Wing".

Preliminary details reveal that the Wing device is expected to come with a 6.8-inch screen that can rotate on its axis and simulate the letter T. Using the device in this way is likely to allow you to rotate it to the side, and use the navigation app, with the secondary screen behind it Without logging out of the app.

This is the first device from a new series under the Explorer project, so we are not sure if LG will choose to continue developing devices like the Wing as a whole series, but we do see the new device as an opportunity to change the way we use the various devices on a daily basis.

Remember, all the series of smartphones from the company were canceled, popular premium series like the V and G ThinQ, disappeared in one day due to lack of interest on the part of buyers who switched to other and cheaper manufacturers.

The new project will allow the manufacturer to arouse curiosity and check whether there is a response from the buyers, depending on whether you decide whether to continue developing future devices from the same series, or simply abandon them.

A number of videos have been leaked in recent days, and now we understand why.

In total, this is a PR campaign that LG worked on and showed 2 videos, both of which were taken while driving.

Hello driver of course.

LG itself is releasing a short video in which it shows a silhouette of the device.

The video is an invitation to the virtual press conference, so LG will reveal the full specs and availability, and of course the price.

Price and availability

And what about the pricing of the device with a rotating screen?

According to some reports it is expected to cost at least $ 1000 dollars and will be available in a limited number of units available for purchase.

And we ask ourselves: Is this LG's answer to the war of folding devices out there?

Will we get a folding screen from LG and not such and such gimmicks?

To LG, this seems like a last chance to return to the smartphone market, and the plan will be a complete surprise, or a failure that will bury the company.
