Animal Crossing Game (Nintendo Switch)

Nintendo's Animal Crossing game was launched five months ago, and has won flattering headlines as it allows you to "move" to a lonely tropical island, build a settlement and meet up with friends online.

The game has already served protesters in Hong Kong, amid China's intention to enact a new "national security law."

It was further reported that the unemployed used the game to make real money, selling the virtual currencies.

But now the most innovative use of the game seems to have been found: Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate on behalf of the United States, has harnessed the game in favor of the election campaign he is running.

Joe Biden's presidential campaign features a series of virtual courtyard signs designed to be displayed on the islands within the "Animal Crossing" game available on the Nintendo Switch console.

Biden's campaign has begun advertising four virtual signs that are available for use by players, when they can place them on their island, while the rest of the players can view the support signs.

Signs include "Biden Harris," "Joe's Team," and even "Rainbow-colored" JOE, for the LGBT community. Snap Instagram and Facebook, but got a cold shoulder from the outraged youngsters.

Since the outbreak of the corona plague in the world and with an emphasis on the United States, candidates for the 2020 presidency have been forced to adapt their election campaign to existing restrictions.

Instead of rallies, public speeches and meetings with the public, staffs were required to interact with the public online.

For example, the Biden team selected events and fundraisers live, alongside productions and socially distant interviews.

The game "Animal Crossing" was a huge success, counting millions of users in the United States.

"Animal Crossing is a dynamic, diverse and powerful platform that brings together communities from around the world. This is a new and exciting opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect with Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands," Christian Tom, director of digital campaigns for The Biden campaign, Verge.

"As we approach the November election, we are looking for new and creative ways to meet voters where they are, and bring our supporters closer."
