A 30-year-old woman was discovered dead on Saturday in a pavilion in Moréac, near Locminé (Morbihan).
A man of the same age was taken into custody at the Pontivy gendarmerie, according to information revealed by Ouest-France.
The victim reportedly went to this house on Friday evening, located in the Cité des Cypres, in Moréac.
An argument would have erupted around 5 a.m. between her and the resident of the pavilion, a maintenance technician who works towards Pontivy, according to Le Télégramme.
Shortly before 1 p.m., this man notified the emergency services and awaited their arrival.
The victim was found dead, face down, probably stabbed.
"At this stage of the investigation, it is particularly premature to qualify [the person in custody] as a companion or ex-companion of the victim," the Lorient prosecutor's office said in a statement.
"I killed someone last night"
The suspect allegedly confessed to his act in an SMS sent to several of his friends before the intervention of the emergency services.
“The gendarmes are coming.
I killed someone last night.
I'm going to jail.
I'm sorry to put you through this, ”he wrote in this message to which the Telegram was able to access.
The victim is said to be the mother of two children.
The suspect, for his part, would be very shocked, according to Pascal Roselier, the mayor of Moréac, interviewed by France Bleu.
The Lorient prosecution has opened an investigation, led by the Pontivy research brigade.
