A gimmick or the next thing?

LG announced yesterday (Monday) the LG Wing, a smartphone that looks completely normal, but comes with a built-in and rotating secondary screen.

The new device is part of Explorer Project, a new venture by LG designed to introduce different products than usual that seek to meet the different needs of users.

On the front of the device in normal mode is the 6.8-inch P-OLED Fullvision main screen, with a 20.5: 9 aspect ratio, and completely free of imperfections.

Once you want to switch between the two modes - from Basic mode to Swivel mode as the company calls them - when the front screen rotates 90 degrees clockwise to a balanced position, thus exposing another 3.9-inch screen.

The display of the LG Wing opens up a wide range of new options and options for unique interactions with many applications and applications, which allow you to easily perform several actions at once.

For example, when using Swivel mode, you can display apps on both screens together or two different apps simultaneously on each screen separately.

In addition, below the display, the company has incorporated a fingerprint scanner as is the case with most smartphones today.

While watching the various video or streaming apps in Swivel mode, the apps can run on the main screen while you use the secondary screen for other uninterrupted actions.

In addition, LG is collaborating with various streaming platforms to introduce consumers to the new and unique usage options in Swivel mode.

For example, when watching YouTube or Tubi on a Naver Whale browser on the main screen, you can chat live with other viewers on the second screen.

Technical Specifications

The LG Wing is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G chipset, 8GB of working memory (RAM) alongside 128 or 256GB of expandable storage via a memory card, along with a 4,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging technology The Quick Charge 4.0 Plus.

Camera

The LG Wing is equipped with 3 rear-facing cameras and includes a 64-megapixel main camera, and two wide lenses with a resolution of 13 and 12 megapixels for shooting at different angles.

The front camera is a removable camera, similar to what we saw at Shiomi and OnePlus, and in the event of a crash in the company, it promises to close quickly.

But that's not all, at LG the smartphone has become a full-fledged gimbal by a combination of six gyroscopes.

This basically makes the second screen a comfortable grip point that provides the stability needed to take sharper, cleaner and clearer images (which is hard to do today on other phones without accessories).

Alongside this, you can use a device such as a joystick to control the camera angle, locking option to prevent vibrations and blurring, "follow" mode for smoother photography in motion, horizontal motion tracking with minimal shake and first person display mode that allows dynamic motion capture.

The LG Wing will be launched in South Korea early next month, and in November it is expected to reach additional markets in Europe, North America and also Israel
