The short message service Twitter has provided a video shared by Donald Trump with the information that the tweet shows a manipulated video.

The US President shared a video in the tweet that had been distributed by another Twitter account.

In the video, it appears that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is pulling out his cell phone at a public event to play a song by the gangsta rap group "NWA" over the lectern's microphones.

The song caused a great deal of public debate when it was released in 1988 because of its explicit and anti-racist lyrics and is still controversial among conservatives to this day.

In fact, Biden did not play the NWA song at the event, but the much more harmless song "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi.

This is shown by original recordings of the event in Kissimmee, Florida.

If you compare the recordings directly, you can clearly hear that the rap track was added later.

Twitter has linked a corresponding fact check in the warning under Trump's tweet.

Within less than two hours, Trump's tweet had been shared around 15,000 times on Twitter.

The embedded video was viewed more than three million times.

It is not known how many users clicked on Twitter's warning.

Biden's team criticizes Twitter's tip

Against the background of sometimes violent protests against police violence and racism, Trump presents himself as a representative of law and order in his election campaign. He accuses his challenger Joe Biden of wanting to make the USA an unsafe country.

Biden counters, Trump stirs up resentment and divides society.

A Twitter spokeswoman said the Trump tweet was given the warning because of its manipulative tendencies.

A member of Biden's campaign team described the measure as inadequate: "This is Trump's second tweet with the manipulated video. The only clue you get is this tiny little flag at the bottom of the picture that it is 'manipulated media'. "

Initially, no statement was received from Trump's election campaign team.
