Mirit Harari, the wife of radio broadcaster Didi Harari, has died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Harari, who also serves as chairman of the board of directors of Sachi - a unique charity patrol, was 52 at the time of her death.
She is survived by a husband, three daughters and two grandchildren.
In early 2019, Harari discovered that in September 2018 she had been diagnosed with cancer, and in January the surgery to remove the tumor was stopped in the middle with the discovery of a metastasis in the liver.
In a touching post she wrote in February 2019, published against the background of International Cancer Day on the Facebook page of Ichilov Hospital, she shared her feelings about her struggle and the impact of cancer on her life.
"Cancer", she wrote then in a post that went viral, "this is the greatest gift I have ever received in my life (...) I realized that thanks to cancer I finally got a chance to live my life anew and this time just the way I want. I stop thinking about everyone "In everything I touch. In all the years I have been here on earth, I have forgotten myself - Mirit. And now, thanks to cancer, I have been able to get out of the crazy race of life I have lived in all these years for the first time and it would not have happened to me if not for the disease.

On September 7, 2020, President Reuven Rivlin announced to Mirit Harari that she had won the President's Award for volunteering by virtue of her position as Chairman of SAI.
The President's Medal for Volunteering is awarded annually to bodies and organizations that work with exceptional excellence in their contribution to society.
"Your activity to get youth out of crime and poverty circles is wonderful and that's why it's so natural for us to give you and Sachi the President's Medal for Volunteering," Rivlin told Harari. And in your deeds. "
Mirit, surrounded by her family, thanked the president and told how significant this moment was for her." I am at the end of my path.
For me, at the end of my journey to receive this significant award is to set off with a huge blessing.
Receiving this award is the greatest gift I could have ever dreamed of. "The president added in tears:" There is no end to your journey.
Your deeds and actions will go with us and your volunteering will accompany us.
All our lives we will remember that we were privileged to live by your side because you are an example and role model for the whole of Israeli society.
We love you, you are with us now, and always will be.
A big hug".
