In the video: Restrictions on prayers during the holiday closure (Photo: Reuters)

Another closure is tightening on us.

Until yesterday it was lighter than before.

You could do almost anything - go to work, get away from home up to a mile, play in the playground, pray.

A week into quarantine and the number of people infected daily scratches the 7,000, maybe we should start praying.

Another closure is tightening on us.

From today it will be harder than before.

Almost anything is allowed, except hoping it will help.

The news channels shout at me the daily numbers of those infected.

I hear them muffled, through Captain Underwear's soundtrack.

Even the dubious pleasure of following the epidemic reports has become a privilege these days.

The TV screen is an easy victim for a few minutes of silence.

There are three children in the home and two parents who need to work.

In this closure almost everything is allowed, except to send the children to frames.

On television, the list of restrictions is counted: who will be able to continue with his life and who will be forced to resign.

And only one debate is still going on: the religious will demonstrate if they are not allowed to pray, the secular pray that they will not be deprived of the right to demonstrate.

In this closure, almost anything is possible, except to agree with someone else.

I hear the words of Yonit and Tamar every evening I understand their meaning, I know the situation is not good.

But the concentration range does not see beyond the next day - what to do with the kids tomorrow?

Who among us will be available to help zoom?

When will I be able to work?

How many hours is a 5-year-old likely to play on a PlayStation a day?

(If the answer is less than 8 do not answer me. I do not want to know).

The head is full of small questions and everyday problems that have no correct answers or good solutions.

I have no way of solving the big problems anyway, so I will postpone the thoughts about them until tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will postpone them to the evening - after the children fall asleep, after I finish answering the emails, after I write all the words that need to be written.

In the evening I will postpone them again to tomorrow.

And so on.

TV channels announced: "All reporters and guests will wear masks on the broadcast"

Everyday again.

Closed outside again (Photo: Reuven Castro)

Every day on its own.

Every day from the beginning.

Yesterday is another day that can be deleted from the board.

The future for now is only tomorrow.

There is no reason to think beyond that.

No planned vacation, no date back to routine, no events and celebrations, no holidays, no big vacation.

Just day after day.

And that's another good scenario.

Just an ordinary house with the usual problems of an unusual epidemic and an ineffective closure.

Some houses have bloodshed behind their walls.

There are houses where you cling to the walls, because at the end of the closure there may no longer be a roof.

There are children whose home is not a safe place for them, and they are now locked in it like in prison.

And no one will hear them through the walls, no teacher or teacher with good eyes will see them in the morning.

There are women who if they are a little lucky, their neighbors will hear them screaming just before their partner kills them (if they were more lucky someone would reach out to them even earlier).

In this closure, almost anything is possible, except to take care of those who really need it.

We are all drowning.

Hospital parking lot becomes an inpatient ward (Photo: Reuven Castro)

If in the previous closure I still thought we should just lower our heads and let this murky wave pass, now it is already clear that we are drowning.

The corona is just a big, stormy river of shit we have to cross before we have to deal with the real problems.

Not that the corona is not a real problem, it certainly is.

But it will pass sometime, and we will come out of it bruised and scratched as only those who have undergone a collective global upheaval can be scratched.

And with this dubious charge and our depleted batteries, as individuals and as a society, we will have to start repairing one by one all the screwed up and broken things - the ones we knocked and broke before the corona.

At the beginning of the epidemic, they said that social distance would not work in Israel.

People here do not know how to keep their distance, stand on you, talk into your face, hug.

But the social distance began here long before the Corona, and when it leaves here, we will remain far apart.

Only sewers from the sewer are not sewers, the secular from the religious, the Jews from the Arabs, the rich from the poor, the men from the women.

In this closure almost anything is possible, except to get closer.
