The holiday and shopping season is upon us, and if anyone had any doubts about the Corona crisis, Amazon held its annual launch event yesterday (Thursday) and unveiled a range of new products.
The most intriguing of them all - a security camera that hovers around the house autonomously.
The camera, known as Always Home Cam and coming under the company's Ring brand, will sell for $ 249.
You can control it remotely and see what is happening in the house at any given moment in Full HD quality, set a pre-set route for it, and as soon as it detects an unusual movement it will leave the docking station and tour the house completely independently - and alert accordingly.
Games service
For the first time, Amazon is entering the gaming world: the company has announced Luna, a cloud streaming service - similar to Google's Stadia service and Microsoft's xCloud.
It will be possible to connect to the service via the Fire TV (the company's streamer), or via PCs and MACs and iPhones.
As with competitors, Amazon has introduced a dedicated remote control - called the Luna Controller - and is based on the personal assistant Alexa (Alexa).
First, the Luna service will include access to 100 different titles, such as Resident Evil 7 and Control, Panzer Dragoon - along with access to a unique channel for Ubisoft games.
The service will be available in the US only at an introductory price of only $ 6, but its launch date has not yet been announced.
Upgrade to smart speakers and new streamers
Amazon has also introduced three new products from its smart speaker brand, called Echo, these include the Echo and Echo Dot speakers that come in a spherical design, the Echo Show model that comes with a 10-inch screen and a smart system that knows how to track the user and move accordingly.
In addition, there is also a version for children, called Echo Kids, in a cute design of a panda or tiger.
And in the field of TV there are two innovations: the company has unveiled the new versions of its compact streamers, the Fire TV Stick and the Fire TV Stick Lite, with upgraded specs that include a 50 percent improvement in performance.
The Lite version will cost $ 30, and will come with a simpler remote, and the regular version will cost $ 50.
