More than 48 hours after the discovery of the stabbed body, the suspect, the victim's ex-spouse, remains untraceable.
His involvement in the murder of a 58-year-old woman, found lifeless, in a pool of blood, on Saturday in Wissembourg, in the Bas-Rhin, leaves little doubt for the gendarmes.
They launched this Monday a call for witnesses, in order to find the trace of the vehicle of this 50-year-old suspect.
The gendarmes are looking for a dark blue Mazda 6 station wagon.
They invite "any person having information relating to this vehicle" or "in the event of its location" to contact 03.88.94.01.02.
They urge those who find themselves facing the suspect not to “intervene”.
The former spouse of the victim would have left at his home a letter, evoking a "betrayal" and his passage to the imminent act, reports France 3. He had maintained a relationship with her for several months, until the summer. .
She had put an end to it, before meeting another man.
A calculated leak?
The body of the fifty-year-old, who worked as a nursing assistant in an nursing home, was hit with at least three stab wounds, a source close to the file told Latest News from Alsace (DNA).
It was the gendarmes who found her, after having been contacted by relatives of the suspect, who had no more news from him.
A source told France Bleu that the man "cut off his cell phone just after the incident" and drove off.
She mentioned the possibility of a flight to neighboring Germany.
The search, undertaken on Saturday, to find the trace of this alleged murderer, was supported by a helicopter and dozens of soldiers.
According to AFP's count, if it is proven, this feminicide would further increase the toll for 2020, which already lists 51 murders of women by a spouse or ex-spouse.
