Google Announcement Event Summary (PR)
Search giant Google hosted tonight (Wednesday) the annual product event announcing a wide range of products, and updates to existing products like the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a smartphones with fifth generation connectivity, the Nest Audio speaker based on the voice assistant, and a new model for Chromecast, The product that allows content to be streamed from the smartphone to a TV that is not smart.
The event was held when it took place, of course, in a virtual format only, and this year the senior officials were absent from it.

The Pixel 5 5G
The highlight of the evening was of course the pixel devices that have become particularly popular, and are not yet sold in Israel in official imports.
For the first time, the new generation of pixels will come with a connectivity in the fifth generation and they will be the first Android devices to come with Android 11. The Pixel 5 screen comes in 6-inch size, FullHD + resolution and refreshes your screen 90 Hz.
The aforementioned smartphone supports the fifth generation link, and the WiFi 5 link only.
The Pixel 5 was launched on a premium device standard, but some will disagree with this statement following the fingerprint reader located on the back of the smartphone and not on the power button or alternatively on the home screen.
The Snapdragon 765G chipset, which is considered an intermediate chipset or higher, provides another reason to think that it is an intermediate device.
But keep in mind that the highlight of the pixels is actually the camera and not an attempt to bring the fastest smartphone.
Google does not build on the processing capabilities, but on the smartphone's photography capabilities (Photo: PR)
In the previous generation Google incorporated a telephoto camera for optical zoom, but in the current generation it abandoned the zoom in favor of a 16-megapixel sensor with a wide lens that includes an f / 2.2 aperture key and 1.0-micron pixels.
The zoom will be done by the main 12.2-megapixel camera with 1.4-micron pixels, and it also includes Google's artificial intelligence.
This is a slightly strange choice of the photography system, with Google this time building more on the capabilities of the unique processing chip found in the smartphone, and not on the photography sensors alone.
Its price is $ 700 in the United States, or 630 euros in Europe (about 2,500 shekels).
With a small compromise in performance: the Pixel 4a 5G
The Pixel 4a 5G will come with a slightly larger 6.2-inch screen with an OLED panel, but a refresh rate of only 60 Hz.
It will also come with the same chipset as the Pixel 5, and will have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The rear camera array is also identical to that of the Pixel 5, and the Pixel 4a 5G even got a headphone jack.
It seems that the only compromise is in the performance of the RAM that should be enough for any average user, but due to this difference, its price is $ 500 or 500 euros (2,000 shekels).
The pair of devices will be available from October 19 in selected countries, with Israel not yet one of them.

For just $ 50: Google launches next-generation Chromecast
Along with smartphones, Google has launched the new Chromecast that comes for the first time with a remote and will offer an interface directly from the Streamer, while in the previous generation it was used to stream content from the smartphone to the TV only.
The new generation includes support for 4K at 60 Hz, support for formats such as Dolby Vision, HDR10 + and HDR (wide dynamic color range), as these are the most advanced devices for viewing.
On the audio side, you can find Dolby Digital, and Atmos.

The Streamer supports ac wireless internet connection, and it comes with Bluetooth.
The good news The new Streamer, which costs $ 50 in total, is the remote that allows navigation in the interface and even buttons for Netflix, YouTube and the voice assistant.
The remote comes with acceleration detection so it can also be used for games.
The new streamer features a version of Google TV, which is actually layered over AndroidTV and includes a particularly convenient orientation interface and is similar to Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV.
The new Chromecast will be available for purchase starting today in the United States, and will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK starting October 15th.
