BMW has been joining Mercedes and Audi in recent days with a serial production of mid-size recreational vehicles.

Last Friday, September 2, went down from the production line of Brillians in Shangyang (BMW's Chinese partner).

In its press release, BMW emphasized the importance of the production quality of the vehicle, which is intended for global marketing and will reach us as well.

Zero defect concept they call it, in an attempt to reassure buyers in the West about the expected quality of vehicles they will receive from there.

To emphasize this they noted that they perform 128 mechanical tests, 994 software tests and 140 functional tests of the vehicle in motion in various deacons.

If by chance you escaped to the sea in closure and missed the launch of the model.

For you I will tell you that the BMW iX3 is a 100% electric recreational vehicle.

Not a hybrid.

The car has an electric motor with an output of 286 hp and 40 kg.

The motor receives power from a lithium battery with a capacity of 80 kWh that can receive fast charging of up to 150 kW from a strong DC charging station.

Charging time from a home charging station (11 kW three-phase) is 7.5 hours.

Performance is 6.8 seconds per 100 km / h, a top speed of 180 km / h and a maximum range of 460 km / h (WLTP).

Dual-constant propulsion with 57% torque preference for the rear wheels.

Because the iX3 is based on the platform of the "regular" X3 (similar to the Mercedes EQC), the suspension package is a classic BMW with double tip bones at the front and a multi-connection suspension at the rear.

The wheelbase is also maintained with 286 cm and the exterior dimensions are similar.

BMW also notes a ventral clearance of 180mm and a water intrusion depth of 500mm.

BMW's electric recreational vehicle is expected to arrive in Israel in the first half of 2021
